- Dedicated video monitors (Philips Avent, VTech, Motorola) cost roughly $50–350 and mostly just watch.
- Smart cameras (Nanit, Owlet) add sleep or breathing analytics but need a cloud, an account and often a subscription.
- Apps (Mamoon, Bibino, Baby Monitor 3G, Annie, Dormi, Cloud Baby Monitor) turn a phone you already own into a monitor. They differ in price, in whether video goes through a server, and in whether they recognize crying. Mamoon can also use an ordinary Wi-Fi camera with night vision as the camera.
